Perla Krauze

Perla Krauze studied graphic design at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. In 1977 she traveled to London and obtained a diploma in textiles at Goldsmiths College, and in 1992  she returned to the city as an MFA student at the Chelsea College of Arts.

Her work has been shown in Mexico and abroad in solo and group exhibiciones, including: Materia lírica: Memoria / Procesos Acumulaciones (Museo Amparo, Puebla, 2017) Archipiélagos (Galería Quetzal, Oaxaca, 2016), Estructuras / Materiales / Espacio (Diagrama CDMX, 2014); Suspended Blues (Gallery Sonja Roesch, Houston, 2013); Structure / Imprints (Howard Scott Gallery, Nueva York, 2013); Pino Suarez 3, Memoria y Recorridos (Museo de la Ciudad de México, 2012); Huellas y Trayectos (retrospectiva, Museo de Arte Moderno, CDMX 2010); José Alvarado 24A / Guerrero 27 Nte. (Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro, 2010); Imprints (Gebert Contemporary, Santa Fe, 2010); Huellas de la Santa Veracruz (Museo Nacional de la Estampa, CDMX, 2007); Orígenes (MACO, Oaxaca, 1997) y Amarres de Luz y Silencio (Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, CDMX, 1995)

She has received acknowledgments from institutions such as the  UNAM and the British Council, and she has taken part in various artists´residency programs: the Red Gate Gallery in China; Echigo - Tsumari Triennial in Japón; Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada; MacDowell Colony, Santa Fe Art Institute y Djerassi Resident Artists Program in the United States

Her work forms part of important public and private collectionsas the Museo Amparo, Museo de Arte Moderno, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca, Museo de Arte Carrilo Gil, MUAC - UNAM, Museo Nacional de la Estampa, Museo de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, Museo de la Cancillería and Colección Manuel Felguérez, all in Mexico; and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Sprint Art Collection, Freedman Gallery - Albright College and Bank of America, all in the US. Since 1994, she has been a member of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte and has received several grants from this program.
